Question

is this a total scam from Ikobo, inc.?

I just received an e-mail from ikobo, inc. saying that i have won some money via my e-mail address, from my point of view this a total scam and i don't n know what to think; this is e-mail conten for you to judge: As part of our commitment in bringing our services to the world, I wish to announce to you that your email emerged as one of the lucky winners to receive a grant of 2.8 Million US Dollars in the 2008 promotional package. This fund has been made available to you through an iKobo Visa card, and it is now on the way to the post authority in your country. Upon delivery, you are required to proceed to your nearest post office to pick the parcel containing the card. Please note that You are also to immediately refund the delivery charges of US$120 immediately so as to avoid cancellation of the delivery. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Best Regards Mr. Robert Parker Copyright © 2001-2009 iKobo, Inc. They send me a tracking number from iship.com when i search it comes out as IN TRANSIT, who can this possibly be when they don't know my address, how the hell do they get my e-mail address anyway? Now, what do you guys think? have someone else receive this same e-mail ? please post your comments. Thanks for replying.

The fact that they are asking you to pay them $120 to win this card (which will most likely turn out to be useless) is evidence of a scam.

This is a very real email. I'm an administrator with this site. Please provide your credit card number, your passwords to everything, your social, your driver's licence number, your address and phone number, and we'll immediately get you your money. ... lol, I'm just kidding. This email is a classic Nigerian 419 scam. People in Nigeria send thousands of these emails to people. The trick is they give you a check for like $5000, but you are told you have to return like $150 of it. You get your cash, you send them $150, and a few weeks later, your bank tells you the check was fake, and they want you to pay them back $5000. Meanwhile, they naturally don't ask the scammer to give back the $150. So... don't do it.

if it sounds too good to be true... This is a scam. You pay them the money and that is the end of it. They have your money and you have nothing. If they are willing to give you 2.8 million do you really think they couldn't cover the postage?
